AWARDS CEREMONY
Well done to GHS learners who were celebrated at the 1st Annual Queenstown Eisteddfod Award Ceremony. The isiXhosa Choir under the conductorship of Latita Breakfast and the leadership of Ms Zuma got recognition for their Platinum. Achumile Soboois and Liliso Ntloko was recognised as being part of the top 1% of achievers at the Eisteddfod this year. Achumile was awarded the Border Agricultural Society Award for the most promising senior performer and Liliso was recognised as the most promising senior artist. Sophie Okafor was awarded the Sandor Maart Memorial Trophy for the most promising senior musician.
DRAMA & PUBLIC SPEAKING
Congratulations to GHS learners who entered the 2024 Queenstown Eisteddfod. In the Drama section the girls achieved 1 Platinum, 7 Double Gold, 19 Gold, 7 Silver and 3 Bronze. In the Public Speaking Prepared Speech the girls achieved 1 Double-Gold, 21 Gold and 6 Silver. In the Public Speaking Unprepared Speech they achieved 2 Double-Gold, 5 Gold and 5 Silver.
ART
Congratulations to GHS Visual Arts learners who entered the 2024 Queenstown Eisteddfod. The following results were achieved :
- Creative Art = Double Gold for Zoe Davis, Gold for Tylan Goodman (x2), Silver for Anam Sijila and Tylan Goodman
- Photographic Art = Platinum for Liliso Ntloko, Double Gold for Liliso Ntloko
